When crisis disrupts normal communication, the Red Cross springs into action, its array of international social services bringing hope and help to those whose world has spun out of control. As part of a global network of 176 Red Cross and Red Crescent societies called the International Red Cross Movement, the American Red Cross strives to relieve human suffering and empower people with the skills they need to help themselves. Through International Humanitarian Law, the Red Cross works to protect wounded and sick combatants on land and sea, prisoners of war, and civilians from the devastation of wartime. In time of war, conflict or disaster, people turn to the Red Cross to locate missing loved ones, bridge communication gaps and reunite families.

International Social Services offer:

  • Red Cross messaging to communicate with loved ones.
  • Locating missing loved ones.
  • International health and welfare inquiries.
  • International disaster relief inquiries.
