Megan Van Benshoten was helping her friend Sharon McGuinness find a puppy on November 6th when a woman standing over a Tompkins County SPCA volunteer yelled "Oh my God, call 911." That was the introductory paragraph in the Ithaca Journal article on January 14, 2002, which covered the story of this incredible rescue. One always hopes life-saving training will never have to be use, but if the situation arises, as it did on November 6th, it’s certainly worth having those skills under your belt. Megan and Sharon were able to provide life-saving rescue breathing to Chris-Anne Cooper as a result of the Red Cross training Sharon had received last October. Don’t wait until it’s too late….sign up for our Adult and Child CPR and First Aid courses today! The American Red Cross of Tompkins County will recognize the two women for their heroic actions at the Annual Business Meeting this Fall. 201 West Clinton Street Ithaca, NY 14850 (607) 273-1900
