"STEP RIGHT UP, ENJOY THE SHOW AND SAVE A LIFE!"
Receive a free pass to the Sciencenter's newest exhibition, 'Body Carnival: The Science and Fun of Being You!' with a blood donation to one of three American Red Cross blood drives in September.
'Body Carnival' is appropriate for children of all ages, as it demonstrates ways that physical science principles are continuously at work in your body through carnival-themed exhibits. Visitors learn how their blood donation functions in the body as they crawl through an artery exhibit- the "Tunnel of Blood." At the "Calculation Station," donors can determine their target heart rate, and at the "Pressure Vessel," they can take their blood pressure. The concepts of force and pressure, the properties of light and sound, and the laws of motion come to life as visitors interact with these exhibits. "Body Carnival" offers something for everyone, young and old alike!
Passes to this special Sciencenter exhibit will be awarded to those who donate blood at the following drives:
Courtside Racquet and Fitness, Wednesday, September 10 from 8am-1pm
Red Cross Blood Clinic at the Ithaca VFW, Thursday September 11 from 11:30am-5:30pm
Red Cross Blood Clinic at the Ithaca VFW, Thursday September 25 from 11:30am-5:30pm
To donate blood, you must be 17 years or older, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in general good health. Donating blood only takes one hour but makes a lifetime difference for someone in need.
